We are not fans of memory foam because they are usually made with a variety of chemicals including formaldehyde. But, in the case of Essentia, they make what they refer to as the world’s ONLY memory foam mattress that is free of chemicals.

All Essentia mattresses feature various combinations of organic latex and their patented natural memory foam.

The memory foam is made from Hevea Milk sap which is from rubber trees (as is latex), natural latex from rubber tree plants, certified organic latex, Dunlop latex, organic essential oils, natural plant extracts such as hydrolyzed corn, and certified organic cotton. So, these are nothing like traditional ‘memory foam’ the most well known probably being ‘Tempur-Pedic’ brand mattresses which contain formaldehyde. The Essentia mattress is really more of a all-natural latex mattress, which is a good thing.
