The great Little Richard died today at 87 years old.
I had the pleasure of seeing him live in 1969 at the Atlantic City Pop Festival and it was an unbelievable performance. The festival, held a few weeks before Woodstock on August, 1,2 and 3 of ’69 featured mostly current top acts of the day like Joe Cocker, Janis Joplin, Buddy Miles, Three Dog Night, Dr. John, Jefferson Airplane and many others over the course of three days. But it was Little Richard who closed out the show and brought down the house!
